Palinka and Sausage Festival: Budapest A Hungaricum is something special and typical for Hungary. That is why you can call this festival a Hungaricum, because it presents two things made in Hungary, and something that most Hungarians are very proud of. The Hungarian Palinka (Fruit Brandy) is a strong alcoholic drink made out of plums, pears, or apricots. It may also be made from apples, cherries, mulberries, or quince. The sausages are big, juicy and another thing Hungarians really like. So this festival celebrates both the Palinka and the sausages made in Hungary
