Cinemas in Budapest If you are interested in going to cinema during your stay in Budapest, the city has plenty to offer you. The biggest cinema brand in Budapest is the Palace Cinemas, but you can also find a Sugar cinema, and Cinema City in the town. Outside these there are several cultural cinemas which offer you films with more of a cultural value.Palace Cinema Westend: The most popular of all the cinemas in Budapest is the Palace Cinema in the Westend shoppingcenter. They have 14 screens, and they start at 10 in the morning, and show films until midnight. At special occasions they also offer premiers starting at 00.01. This cinema is placed at the northern end of Westend, at the top floor. At the webpage of Palace Cinemas given below you can also check the schedules for the other Palace Cinemas in town. Useful information: Prices: 1.250,- (990 for students) Webpage: http://www.palacecinemas.hu/ (change language to English in right corner as you enter) IMPORTANT: Films marked with "Sub" or "F" are subtitled; "Dub" means dubbed to Hungarian and "Hu" means they are shown in Hungarian (original Hungarian film). Cinema City Arena Plaza: If you would like to go to the most modern cinema in town you have to go to Arena Plaza. This Cinema City offers you 23 screens, 17 normal, 5 VIP screens where you get food before the film and get to sit in very nice chairs; and 1 IMAX screen where you can watch the films in 3D. Useful information: Prices: 1.350,- (990 for students) Webpage: http://www.cinemacity.hu/ (the page is not working well, but you can try!) Other cinemas: For those who would like to visit other cinemas we will just mention some more. At the Örz Vezér Square, end station of the red metro, you can find the Arkad Shopping Center and an IKEA. Between these you can find the Sugar (Mozi) Cinema. Their webpage can be found at http://www.sugarmozi.hu/ (only in Hungarian). The Corvin Cinema is an old cinema, also known for being a place of importance during the revolt against communism in 1956.
