They started constructing the Budapest sportarena in 2001 and finished in 2003. Papp László Budapest Sportaréna can seat more than 12.000 people, and it is the arena for big concerts, hockey matches and other indoor arrangements in Budapest. It is located near the Puskás Ferenc Stadium, so within a few hundred meters you can find the two major localities for events occuring in Budapest.

Lots of artists have already performed in the Budapest Sportaréna, for example: Mark Knopfler, Shakira, Coldplay, James Blunt, Bryan Adams, Eric Clapton, Sting, Ricky Martin, Guns n Roses, Deep Purple, Simply Red, Andrea Bocelli, Santana, Britney Spears, Paul McCartney, Avril Lavigne and Green Day.
