Gerbeaud

Since the middle of the 19th century Gerbeaud has served its guest with their delightful cakes and coffee. Several celebrities have visited their cafe, for example Madonna. Here you can meet waiters in old-fashioned clothes, and the inside is very nicely decorated.

A couple of years ago the confectionery got new owners, increasing the quality of the confectionery a whole lot, but the price level also went up quite a lot with the new owners. Now this means that you will get some of the best cakes in Budapest at Gerbeaud, but also at some of the highest prices. Is it worth it? Write your thoughts in the comment field.

This is one of the few places where they add the service fee (15%) to the bill, which means there is no need to leave more behind as you leave.

Visited yesterday your kavéház and saw the best of the best! Never in my life met so much friendlyness and minöség!

I visited Gerbeaud yesterday. It was absolutely good tasting cakes, though a bit pricy. A piece of cake and a cup of coffee costs around 3500 HUF per person. But, if you have the money, this is a great place to eat cakes in Budapest!

My husband and I had cake and coffee @ Gerbeaud Café October 20, 2016. The café is without a doubt a beautiful coffee house. I unfortunately, was disappointed by the cake. It was dry and not nearly as tasty as it’s appearance in the case would lead one to believe. My husband did enjoy his choice. Also be sure to dress appropriately(perhaps resort casual) or you will definitely feel uncomfortable.
