When will Disney+ come to Hungary?

Are you in lockdown in Budapest (Hungary), or are you just curious about when Disney+ will come to Hungary? Or are you planning a trip to Hungary, but you worry about whether or not you will be able to stream The Mandalorian and all the other popular shows on Disney+ while visiting the country? Here we will give you a status report about Disney+ and its situation and future in Hungary!

So, let us start with the current status. If you visit the DisneyPlus website while residing in Hungary, you will see the following screen.

disney+ in hungary

As you can see on the picture, the service is unavailable. There is a little text in the upper right corner asking if you are a subscriber already, and it gives you the chance to login. But, even if you login, you will not be able to stream anything, because then you will see the following error message.

disney+ unavailable

You will see an error message like the one above in the language of your Disney+ subscription. Above the language is Norwegian, but if the language of your Disney+ subscription is set to English, German, or some other language, you will see the error message telling you that Disney+ is unavailable at your current location message like above.

In other words, even if you have a Disney+ subscription, you will not be able to enjoy it while visiting Hungary…. or?

Is it impossible to watch Disney+ in Hungary?

There are a few ways to stream Disney+ while in Hungary. I can currently recommend the following article which explains easily how to watch Disney+ in Hungary if you already have a subscription, and it also gives instructions on how to get a Disney+ subscription and watch it in Hungary, if you do not have a subscription yet. You can find the article at https://www.thevpnboss.com/disney-isnt-available-in-my-country-what-can-i-do/.

When will Disney+ come to Hungary?

Disney+ is already available in quite a lot of European countries, and the situation is quite similar to the situation with Netflix some years ago. They were available in the most “popular” European countries, but we have to wait for it in Eastern Europe and countries such as Slovenia, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary.

But, it has now been made public that Disney+ will come to Hungary on June 14th in 2022!

In other words, this summer Disney+ will finally come to Hungary, meaning that you can stream The Mandalorian, The story of Boba Fett, Loki, and lots of other Disney+ original content and awesome movies on the streaming portal.

That should be considered awesome news. And if you have a Disney+ subscription in some other country, then you can use the same subscription while in Hungary. In other words, you do not need an additional subscription to watch Disney+ in Hungary, but you can use your present subscription while in Hungary. In the same way, Hungarians who will purchase a Disney+ subscription in Hungary can use the same description while visiting other countries in which Disney+ is available.

There are some differences in content between countries for Disney+ and the ratings you see will also reflect the ratings of the country you are in and not your home country. Besides that, everything works in the same way.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy your days in Hungary!

How can I watch Swedish TV online from outside Sweden?

I am living in Budapest at the moment and want to see Swedish TV online (svt.se), but I get an error message that it is not possible. I think it is because I try to watch the live feed from outside Sweden. Can you help me?

Thank you for the question! The problem you have is very common as TV channels use a so-called geo-block to only let people inside the country watch their live broadcasts. The result is that when you try to watch the live feed of SVT.se (SVT Play) from outside Sweden you will get the following error message:

Error message on SVT.se
The following error message comes up in Swedish: “Videon är inte tillgänglig. Det kan finnas flera olika skäl till att du inte kan se videon.”

To fix this problem you need to do make the Swedish television page (SVT.se) believe that you are actually watching the webpage from within Sweden. That can easily be done, all you need to do is to get a Swedish IP address. A very easy way to get a Swedish IP address is to make a subscription to NordVPN. As you visit their page you can make a subscription for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. Once the subscription is made you can download their program and once downloaded you log in with your username and password, select a server in Sweden and in totally 5-10 minutes from now you can watch the live feed from SVT.se online.

We just tried this (writing the article from Hungary) and here you can see a screenshot what SVT.se live stream looked like after connecting to the Swedish server and restarting our browser.

The program will also let you select servers from other nations in the world, so you can for example use this in the same way to watch the British channel ITV online and thus see British X-Factor and other shows. A very useful tool which we can warmly recommend through own experience. In addition to these services the program will also encrypt your Internet connection. This is very useful if you use open WiFi networks in cafes, restaurants and hotels, because this is normally very vulnerable and it is easy to steal your information as you use open/non secure WiFi networks. Once you use NordVPN to connect your information will be encrypted and you can surf the web safely.

Where can I watch Hungarian X-Factor online?

I watched some episodes of Hungarian X-Factor while in Hungary on RTL Klub. I would like to keep watching from home. Can you please tell me where I can watch the shows online?

Thank you for the question! The last two episodes of the Hungarian X-Factor in 2012 will be broadcasted tomorrow and on Sunday, so if you want to watch them, you better prepare. It is not at all hard to see the Hungarian X-Factor online. Unfortunately you can not see it live, but RTL Klub very quickly publishes the broadcast, so with 40-50 minute delay you can watch the entire broadcast online. If you want to check it out, you can visit the following page: X Faktor Hungary

As you go there just click the link of the show you would like to see. The Hungarian “Megnézem” means that I want to see it. Just click the link and after some commercials the show will start.

If you are a big X-Factor fan and would like to stay up to date on what is happening in the UK X-Factor as well, then you can watch their broadcasts online on ITV. More information about how to watch ITV online from outside the UK can be found in the article referred to. Enjoy the show, enjoy the stars and go Olah Gergo (our favorite to win the Hungarian X-Factor in 2012)!

How to get a Hungarian IP address?

I live outside Hungary, but I would need a Hungarian IP address for different projects and stuff I do. Can you give me some advice?

My first piece of advice would be to move to Hungary! It is a beautiful nation and the most beautiful city in the world is here Budapest! But, we can of course see why people have to live outside Hungary as well – and that is of course positive, because if everyone lived in Hungary, then no tourists would come to Budapest and live in all the hotels.

Back to your question. If you want a Hungarian IP address several services are offering this. One of those is NordVPN which we use ourselves when abroad, and it works very fine. We once had a similar question concerning how to watch Hungarian TV from abroad (when the broadcast is supposed to only be available for those inside Hungary). To do this you also need a Hungarian IP address, so the information given in that answer should help you as well. Read the full article here: How to watch Hungarian TV from abroad online?
