The annual Budapest Palinka Festival will be arranged between May 5th and May 8th in 2011. This year the focus will be on Plum-palinka, but you can of course taste a whole lot of other Palinka’s as well if you visit the festival. The Palinka Festival will this year be arranged for the sixth time at the Hunyadi Court, in the Buda Castle area. This festival should not be confused with the annual Palinka and Sausage festival arranged every autumn, also in the area next to the Buda Castle.
More information about the Palinka festival can be found here.
I don’t know much about Queens of the Stone Age, but I do know that they are coming to Budapest in May 2011 to perform in Petöfi Csarnok. If you know them and would like to be there as they play their riff-oriented and heavy hard-rock music tickets can be bought online from WorldTicketShop.
The concert with Queens of the Stone Age will be arranged May 28th in Petöfi Csarnok, starting at 20.00.

Some more information about the band (source: Wikipedia)
Queens of the Stone Age is an American hard rock band from Palm Desert, California, United States, formed in 1997. Since its inception, the band’s line-up has included founding member Josh Homme, with its current line-up including longtime members Troy Van Leeuwen and Joey Castillo, alongside Michael Shuman and Dean Fertita.
Formed after the demise of Homme’s previous band, Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age developed a style of riff-oriented, heavy music. Their sound has since evolved to incorporate a variety of different styles and influences, including working with ZZ Top member Billy Gibbons and steady contributor Mark Lanegan, both of whom have contributed influences from genres such as blues and grunge.

In 2011 Shakira will do quite a lot of concerts around in Europe, and during her tour she will visit Bucharest, Belgrade, Zagreb, Graz, Paris and quite some other cities. But, if you would like to see and hear Shakira in Budapest, then you better come to the capital of Hungary May 5th, because that is when the Budapest Shakira concert will be arranged. The concert venue is the usual Papp Laszlo Budapest Sportarena, and it will packed again as Shakira enters the stage.
The Colombian singer Shakira who was born in 1977 has a whole lot of fans in Hungary. We have read that Shakira can speak Spanish, English, Portugese, as well as some Italian, Spanish and Arabic. The question is though if Shakira will speak even some Hungarian as she enters the stage in Budapest? At least a “szia” or maybe even “egeszségedre”… who knows? If you want to be at the Shakira concert in Budapest, you can buy tickets using the link beneath this text.
