Beneath you can find information given from the Labyrinth of the Buda Castle concerning their special easter program:
Buda Castle LabyrinthWandering in the maze lined with candles has become a tradition in the Labyrinth of Buda Castle on holidays. There are 1000 candles burning on the second day of Christmas, and 1001 candles on Easter Monday. One for a thousand.
Every year on Easter Monday between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. the mysterious halls and passages of the Labyrinth of Buda Castle can be wandered in the light of 1001 candles. There are little surprises hidden in the cave grottos: the Easter treasures of the Labyrinth.
The entrance fee is 600 HUF (children ticket) to everyone.

It has become quite normal, even for large groups, to do most of the arrangements of their stay in Budapest in their own hands. Doing so they save money and save time… as a local travel agency somewhere requires both money and time! We have also experienced this, and in quite some cases we have helped larges groups with different arrangements in Budapest.
For example earlier this month we helped a large Danish company with 150 employees visiting Budapest. During their stay they lived in Hotel Gellért, and our job was to arrange all their activities and spare time programs! This meant everything from wine excursion to Etyek, Danube Cruise with guide, Szentendre excursion, drinking programs, transportation and so on.
Another group with students had their airport transfers arranged and of course we helped them out with dinner reservations and pre-arranged menus in some restaurants.
These are just some of the things we can do and arrange. If you come with a larger (or smaller) group, do not hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to help you!
The sun is shining, it’s 15-20 degrees and you are in Budapest. It is a normal spring day in the capital of Hungary. Here follows some advices on how to spend such a day in Budapest. This might be a real top 10 list of activities, but rather a list with ideas for different nice activities that can be done on a sunny spring day in Budapest.
Ten nice spring activities in Budapest
1) Cross the Elisabeth Bridge and walk to the top of the Gellert Hill. Make some marvelous pictures!
2) Go to Raday Utca or Liszt Ferenc Tér and buy something to drink in one of the outdoor cafes/restaurants
3) Budapest Zoo! Great place to be when the sun is shining.
4) Travel with the Libegő (chairlift) between Zugliget and John Hill (János hegy). Get there using bus 291 from Nyugati Pályaudvar. Afterwards enjoy the fresh air and the view from the Elisabeth tower.
5) Buy some sun lotion and swim in the outdoor pools of the Szechényi Thermal Bath
7) See Budapest from the Danube while on a dinner cruise
8) Sit down somewhere and try to learn some useful Hungarian phrases. Below you can find some suggestions.
9) Get more knowledge about the different special drinks from Hungary in our „Drinks of Hungary” program
10) Smile to the people around you, simply because life is good and Budapest is beautiful!
Some useful and some useless Hungarian phrases:
– Süt a nap (the sun is shining)
– Kérek egy hosszú kávét (a long coffee please)
– Hol van McDonalds? (where is McDonalds)
– A nevem Bill Clinton (my name is Bill Clinton)
– Nagyon szépek a jegesmedvek (the polar bears are really nice)
All Christmas markets in Vienna have opened now, and we were in Vienna last weekend to check out that everything is okay. It is! If you come to Budapest before Christmas and would like bigger Christmas markets and better Christmas atmosphere than in Budapest, then a daytrip to Vienna might be the thing.
For those who have been to Budapest several times, and for us who live here, the two clown balloons outside the Hungarian State Circus has served as a symbol of the circus itself. A month ago or something as I drove past the circus during a guided tour I though noticed that big changes were about to take place… First the air was taken out of the clowns, and then they were removed (for good)!
It can not be considered a tragedy as the clowns did not look to nice (the building doesn’t look to nice either), but still our dear and belowed clown balloon friends has been removed. Would you like to see the before – during – after pictures? Here you go!
For shopping freaks who like H&M it is for sure good news that H&M now can be found in WestEnd Citycenter as well. For a long time WestEnd has been lacking this popular fashion shop but not along they opened up their new shop in WestEnd, so you do not have to go to centers such as Allee or Arena Plaza anymore to buy clothes from the swedish clothing company!
The new H&M shop is located next to Media Markt, beneath the floor where you can find Palace Cinemas and above the floor where you can find C&A.
The Christmas Market in Vienna has already opened and we were there this weekend. It was packed with people and everyone enjoyed the glühwein and all the small shops located outside the “Rathaus” in Vienna. I am said to say so, but the Christmas Market in Vienna looks quite a lot better than the one in Budapest, but that probably has to do with the fact that the square in front of the Rathaus (City Hall) is better for such a market than Vörösmarty Square in Budapest. Some more markets will open in Vienna by Schönbrunn and Belvedere in a couple of days.
Today at 11:11, November 11 in the 11th district was the official opening of the new shopping center in Budapest, Allee! Many people had met up to join in and rush to Electro World which had many great offer to their visitors today. I arrived to Allee around 16.00, walked around the entire mall, made some pictures and had a good time. There were some techinal problems as many shops were working in the dark (some electrical problem occured probably), but except from that everything seemed in order. The cinema will only open tomorrow!
I liked the look of Allee myself. It reminds me much of Arena Plaza in style, only that Allee feels much smaller.
I made quite some pictures, so enjoy them, and if you have visited Allee, please share your comments as well!
