The Budavári Borfesztivál (International Wine festival ) is one of the most popular wine festivals in Budapest which is held each year at the breathtaking Buda Castle. This will be the 24th Budavári Borfesztivál which is one of the most visited wine festivals in the life of the city. Hungary is known by its wines and at the festival visitors will have the chance to try the best Hungarian wines from all over the country. At the wine festival over 200 wineries will present their most delicious wines and the festival represents all the Hungarian wine regions and the 140 different grape varieties as well.
The main goal of the festival is to show the great variety of wines to the visitors. Alongside with the wines the festival also hosts the most delicious traditional Hungarian dishes as well. Apart from the wine tasting and eating the festival offers countless programs and activities for all the visitors. During the festival multiple concerts, various performances, games and children activities are waiting for everyone.
The 24. Budavári Borfesztivál will take place in the capital city of Hungary in Budapest at the Buda Castle with a beautiful view over the Danube and the city. The festival will be held from 9th September to 13th September 2015.
This will be the third time the Fish Festival (Budapesti Halfesztivál) will be held again in Budapest and it is the perfect time to try the best Hungarian dishes with fish.
This year the festival will take place in the end of February when Torkos Csütörtök will be held as well. The festival presents the different types of fishes living in the various lakes and rivers in Hungary such as the fish from the Danube, Tisza, lake Balaton and so on.
The festival mostly focuses on the traditional Hungarian specialties but at the festival visitors also have the chance to try several different international dishes with fish as well. At the festival visitors can try the traditional Hungarian fish soup (halászlé) but there will be sushi, Russian caviar, French fish soup and English fish and chips as well. This year the third Fish Festival will take place in Budapest at Vajdahunyadvár from 19th February to 22nd February in 2015. The entrance for the festival is free for everyone.
‘Torkos Csütörtök’, also known as Gluttonous Thursday, will be held again this year not only in Budapest but in several other Hungarian cities as well. What is it about? When is it arranged?
The ‘Torkos Csütörtök’ first was held in 2006 and it got so popular over the years that it grew it self out to one of the most popular events in the whole country. The ‘Torkos Csütörtök’ is a gastronomical event which is part of the carnival season of Hungary and it has a long history which has been always part of the Hungarian traditions. At this event several restaurants take part and it is a perfect opportunity to try the best restaurants in the city. All the participant restaurants offers their dishes for 50% on this special day. As it one of the most popular events in the city you should book your tables as soon as it possible because the restaurants quickly get full. As in the last few years over 1000 restaurants will take place in this event this year as well so there are many possibilities to choose from and it is also a perfect time to try new restaurants and new dishes as well.
This year the ‘Torkos Csütörtök’ will be held 19th February 2015 in various restaurants in the whole country. There are no list of the participant restaurants yet, but in general lots of restaurants are taking part in this event, except from Trofea Grill, Michelin restaurants and some of the other restaurants that are fully booked every evening anyway!
The exhibition presents the works of the American artist Alan Sonfist for the first time in Budapest and it will be available until February 15th this year.
Alan Sonfist is one of the first and also the leading artists of the movement called environmental, earth or land art. The American artists is one of the most outstanding artist of the land art and he became famous with his first work ‘Time Landscape’ which he created in New York, Manhattan. This year the ‘Time Landscape’ celebrates its 50th birthday and in this occasion visitors will have the chance to explore this new form of art in Budapest. At the exhibition visitors have the chance to discover more on the art of Alan Sonfist and to explore more on this form of art as well. Alan Sonfist in his art works he deals with the history of nature and the effect people had on the Earth through the years and centuries. At the exhibition visitors can see nature and art from a new perspective. This is the first exhibition held in central and eastern Europe of the work of Alan Sonfist. The exhibition will take place at the Museum of Fine Arts Budapest from 18th December in 2014 until 15th February in 2015.

Volt Festival is one of the most popular festivals in Hungary which takes place in the beginning of summer every year since 1993.
Volt Festival is always held in Sopron which is a city really close to the Austrian border. The festival is held in the first week of July and it will be like this in 2015 as well. At the festival several music genres are represented from rock through hip-hop, jazz to electronic music. Apart from the countless concerts at the festival there are other programs and cultural event as well. The next year’s programs, artists and musicians are not fully settled yet but there are already some news on the programs and concerts.

This is a piece of cottage cheese (sweet) covered with dark chocolate in the standard version. This is served cold, so if you plan on bringing it home with you, then make sure to put it in the fridge as soon as you get back home again. Another famous chocolate is the Sport szelet. The paper almost looks like a chewing gum, but beyond the paper you will find a piece of dark chocolate with rum among its ingredients. For those in love with cakes the Ischler is ideal, because you can bring it with you home, at least if you get it packed in a piece of paper. This is a kind of biscuit cake with jam on the inside and covered with chocolate on the outside.

Nickelback is a Canadian rock band which was formed in 1995. Nickelback is one of the most successful and most popular Canadian rock bands and during the years they have sold over 50 million records world wide. Their biggest break through in their career was when they released their album Silver Side Up in 2001 and from the album How You Remind Me was and still is their biggest and most known hit. Nickelback came out with their latest album in November this year and the No Fixed Address was the Canadian rock band’s eighth studio album.
