Best films from Budapest on Netflix

Do you have a Netflix account and feel like watching some film with clips from Budapest in them? Want to see the Chain Bridge and other Budapest attractions combined with action? Here are some of the films you can watch from Budapest on Netflix!

Before continuing it is worth knowing that there are not that many films that have been recorded in Budapest, and lots of the films recorded in Budapest does not really try to show Budapest as a city. That is why we will simply highlight a few films on Netflix in which you can see the beauties of Budapest. A film such as Die Hard 5 is not on the list, because you see very little from Budapest in that film, and it can not be found on Netflix.

So, as you want to watch Budapest on Netflix you will of course need a Netflix account, and if you are in Hungary you will need a VPN subscription as well, because you are not yet allowed to watch Netflix in Hungary. Budapest on US Netflix

If you have a US Netflix account the best films are unavailable for you, but there is one film on US Netflix in which you can at see pieces of Budapest, and that is Evita!

Budapest on UK Netflix

On UK Netflix there are much more to watch, so the best two films available on UK Netflix with scenes and beautiful images from Budapest is I Spy and Munich. I Spy is a really lousy film, but after all it was recorded in Budapest, which makes it nice anyway. Munich is a much more serious film dealing with the terror attack on Israeli participants during the Summer Olympics in Munich. Budapest on Norwegian Netflix

If you want to watch an action film in Norwegian with English subtitles, then you need to watch “Varg Veum: I morket er alle ulver gra” on Netflix. WWE Live in Budapest

WWE or World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. is an American privately controlled entertainment company which was founded 21st February in 1980 by Vince and Linda McMahon. The WWE shows are not legitimate sporting events but they are based on pure entertainment. If you want to see this crazy show, then come to Budapest in April 2015, because the WWE guys is coming to town!

They present story line, script and the matches are choreographed and they often use moves that can be dangerous and can cause injures if they are performed incorrectly. The WWE is on a tour from 2014 and 2015 and will preform in different European countries during the tour. They will give plenty of live show across Europe.

They will give several shows in the UK in different cities such as Liverpool, Leeds, Brighton, in Germany they will be in Frankfurt, in France WWR will perform in Paris and in Italy they can be seen in Milanoo. They will even perform in Hungary as well. In Hungary the live show will take place in the capital of Hungary in Budapest. The WWE live show will be held at Papp László Budapest Sportaréna.

The show will be on Thursday 16th April in 2015 at 19.30pm.

Advent Feast at the Basilica (Christmas market)

This event will be held in the capital of Hungary in Budapest. The Advent Feast will take place in the centre of Budapest front of the Saint Stephan Basilica at the big square.

Christmas Market Stephens Basilica — The Christmas market in front of the St Stephens Basilica looks awesome at night!

This event in the city is one of the most popular one at the Christmas period and each year it attracts more and more people. At the market visitors will have the chance to try the best and typical Christmas dishes and drinks including the different mulled wines . Apart from the traditional Christmas foods you can also do your pre-Christmas shopping as well.

At the market there will be a wide selection of the best and various hand made Christmas presents and decorations. The Advent Feast offers a wide selection of programs, children and family activities as well. At the market every day and evening there will be some kind of program including the ice rink with a huge Christmas tree in the middle which is free for children. There will be also free child care and play area provided. The Advent Feast at the Basilica will be held from 28th November 2014 until 1st of January in 2015.

Immendorff. Long Live Painting – Exhibition

Jörg Immendorff was one of the most outstanding contemporary German painters. He was born in 1945 and he died in 2007. Immendorff was also a sculptor, designer and art professor.

He is one of the most divisive painters of the post-war German artists and his paintings can not be classified into historical or other categories but on the other hand he is one of the most typical German painter not only because he was interested in the German political questions and issues but because in his paintings he adopted earlier German painting traditions from Otto Dix, George Grosz and Max Beckmann. On his paintings he used exultant colours and his vivid imaginary. The exhibition is mostly focused on the transformation he had through the years in his art works. The exhibition presents Immendorff works in a new way and visitors will have the chance to explore the development of the artist through his paintings. The main goal of the exhibition is to show the vivid colours he used on his paintings, the shades and the details. The exhibition will take place in the capital of Hungary in Budapest at the Museum of Fine Arts. It will be shown from 9th November 2014 until next year 15th February 2015.

The “Gastro Walkway”

The event Gasztrósétány will take place in Budapest. The Gasztrósétány is a gastronomical event in the heart if Budapest. The event will be open for four months and it will offer the best products for all the visitors.

At the event visitors will have the opportunity to try the best Hungarian meals and drinks. In that four months at the gastronomical event more than 200 Hungarian food producer will present their best and most delicious foods and drinks and at the event visitors will have the chance to discover the traditional dishes and drinks as well. The best quality pálinka and a wide selection of the best Hungarian wines will be offered at the market. There are four topics during the four months.

In November the focus will be on the Belvárosi Liba and Újbor Fesztivál which is about the best wines and the most delicious meals made of goose. December is the period of Christmas and the Christmas Market with the best presents and mulled wines. In January the Belvárosi Disznótor is waiting for all the visitors and in February there will be the Belvárosi Sajtfesztivál where the most delicious cheeses will be presented to all the visitors. Among the best foods and drinks there will be plenty of other programs and activities waiting for everyone. The four month long festival will take place in the central of Budapest at Erzsébet tèr.

2014 European Women’s Handball Championship

This year in 2014 the European Women’s Handball Championships will be held again. It will be the 11th time the international handball tournament for women’s national team will be organised by the European Handball Federation, and this time it will be arranged in Hungary and Croatia.

The European Handball Federation, the EHF is the umbrella organisation for women handball in Europe. The organisation was founded in November in 1991 and the head of the organisation is based in the capital of Austria in Vienna. The European Handball Federation has 50 members such as Albania, Andorra, Hungary, Bulgaria, Turkey, Norway, Holland, Spain, Switzerland and so on and two associated federation England and Scotland as well. The organisation was founded in November 1991 in the capital of Germany in Berlin. The organisation is responsible for the different tournaments in Europe and it organised the Men’s and Women’s Handball Championship as well.

The EHF is also responsible for beach handball and to expand the attraction of handball in schools apart from organising the world championships and tournaments. This year the European Women’s Handball Championship will take place in December. The two hosting countries will be Hungary and Croatia in this year. The international tournament will be held from 7th December in 2014 until 21st December in 2014. 16 teams will be presented at the European Championship.

The games will take place in the Hungarian capital in Budapest and in two smaller Hungarian cities Györ and Debrecen. In Croatia the games will be held also in the capital, in Zagreb and in two smaller cities in Croatia, in Varaždin and Osijek. In Budapest the games will take place at Papp László Budapest Sportaréna which has the capacity of 12500 persons, in Györ it will be at Audi Arena with the capacity of 5000 persons and in Debrecen at Fönix Hall with the capacity of 8500 people. In Croatia, in Zagreb the games will be held at Arena Zagreb which hosts around 15200 people, at Varaždin Arena where around 5200 people can gather and at Gradski vrt Hall which can host around 3500 persons.

European Championship groups

In group A there will be Hungary, Spain, Russia and Poland, in group B will be Norway, Denmark, Romania and Ukraine, group C will include Sweden, Germany, Croatia and the Netherlands and group D will be Montenegro, France, Serbia and Slovakia. The first game of the 2014 European Women’s Handball Championship will be held 7th December in 2014 at Audi Arèna in Györ in Hungary. The game will start at 18.00 in the evening.

During the final weekend matches will be played in Budapest, in the Budapest Sportarena. Slipknot concert in Budapest

Slipknot the American heavy metal band will be on a world tour from 2014. Slipknot was formed in 1995 in the United State, in Iowa.

In the early days of their career there were several line up changes and the band consisted 9 members. Nowadays Slipknot only has 7 members. Slipknot is best known of their attention grabbing image, their aggressive music style and their energetic live performances. Slipknot came out with their first album called Slipknot in 1999. The first album brought them great success and they became worldwide known. Slipknot came out with their 5th studio album 5: The Gray Chapter in October in 2014. Slipknot will be on a world tour from 2014 and they will be on stage in different countries all around the world. They will start their concert tour in North America this year and they will continue their tour next year in Europe. They will perform in multiple European countries such as Hungary, Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany and so on. The Slipknot concert in Hungary will be held in the capital city of Hungary, in Budapest. The concert will take place at Papp László Budapest Sportaréna. Martin Smith and Band concert in Budapest

Martin Smith is an English singer, songwriter and musician who will be performing in Budapest again this year. Martin Smith got world wide known as the lead singer of the Christian rock and worship band Delirious?.

The Delirious? was one of the most influential Christian bands and had great success. One of the most popular songs of the band was “Deeper”, “I Could Sing of Your Love” and “History Maker”. After the band split up Martin Smith started a successful career on his own and he joined to a new band. With the new band they have been in Hungary twice already giving concerts in Budapest and it will be the third time Martin Smith and his new band will be on stage in Budapest. The concert this year will be take place at A38.

Martin Smith and Band came out with two solo albums already and they worked in collaboration with another famous Christian rock and worship band the Jesus Culture in June 2012. This year the concert will be take place at A38. The Martin Smith and Band concert will be held on Sunday 9th November 2014. Wine trip to Eger with tasting, lunch and shopping

On December 14th we are arranging a day trip to Eger where we will visit one vineyard, enjoy a nice lunch and have some time of in the center of Eger where a nice Christmas market can be found.. This is a full day trip starting from Budapest at around 9.30 and we expect to return around 17.00. This is the perfect trip if you want to buy some good wine for Christmas, or simply see another Hungarian city and its Christmas market.

This is an amazing chance to get to visit the countryside of Hungary, and to visit one of the most famous of all Hungarian wine regions, Eger. The city is located 130km away from Budapest and here you will visit one of the most famous vineyards in town, and there you will taste 6 different wines.
